HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
THANKSGIVING MESSAGE FROM PASTOR IKE
Ike Ozuome
11/29/2024
As our Creator and Father in heaven, the Lord God Almighty provides food as well as other blessings for all of His creation—that includes all of us. In Psalm 103, King David gives us plenty for which to praise God: He forgives our sins, heals our diseases, redeems our life from destruction, crowns us with lovingkindness and tender mercies, satisfies our mouth with good things, lifts us up when we are down, meets our daily needs, hears our cries, and saves us when we are in trouble. Not only does He do all these for us, but He also stays near to those who call on Him and gives righteousness and justice to those who are helpless and oppressed. What a loving and caring Father!
This Thanksgiving Day, please join me in praise and thanksgiving to the Lord for all His benefits. Together, let us call upon His name and make known His deeds among our various people, friends, and families. Your love, prayer, and friendship are greatly appreciated.
FIX YOUR ATTENTION ON JESUS CHRIST
DEAR FRIENDS AND BRETHREN!
Today, the 28th of November, is an American holiday on which families traditionally gather to celebrate and thank God for all His blessings. The first Thanksgiving was held by the Pilgrims in 1621 when they held a three-day feast to celebrate a successful harvest. Since then, Thanksgiving has been celebrated in the USA on the fourth Thursday of November every year. In Canada, it is celebrated on the second Monday of October.
As children of God, we have every reason to celebrate this day and thank our Creator and Father God Almighty for what He has done this year and is about to do in the New Year. Since Thanksgiving reminds us that we owe our all to God, it is fitting that on this special day, we pause to reflect on the many blessings He has bestowed upon us throughout the year.
While it is easy for us to complain about life, it is also important for us to remember that God is the source of all our blessings. We cannot deny that with all that is happening around the world, God has been gracious, compassionate, patient, and loving in all that He does.
As we celebrate what God has done for us this year on this Thanksgiving Day and what He is about to do in the New Year, please trust the Lord Jesus Christ and keep your appetite under control. Don't eat anything that you know is bad for you. All food doesn't agree with everyone, and everyone doesn't like the same kinds of food. Don't feel that you just have to have all sorts of fancy food, and don't be a glutton over any food. If you eat too much, you'll get sick; if you do it all the time, you'll always have stomach trouble. Gluttony has been the death of many people. Avoid it and live longer. Just an advice.
May the Lord God Almighty, our Creator and Father in heaven, continue to bless you and your family in all that you endeavor as you enjoy a safe, happy, and healthy Thanksgiving holiday.
Yours in God’s Service,
